Kiah is a Chinese Medicine Practitioner living in Sydney, Australia. Her path towards natural medicine began at a young age, when she became frustrated by doctors who would rush her through appointments, their main solution being a ‘quick-fix’ such as a pill or tablet. Kiah has always believed that health is dependent on multiple factors that need to be in balance. She always considers her clients physical and mental health, as well as factors such as their diet, exercise and social habits.
Kiah has always had a love for science and the human body. In high school, she began to research forms of medicine that considered health in the same way that she did. She then found Chinese Medicine (TCM), which seeks to diagnose and heal people by looking at all areas of their health. TCM recognises the link between the mind and body and uses lifestyle changes, as well as acupuncture and herbs to restore balance within the body.
Kiah studied at the University of Technology, Sydney for four years, receiving her Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She also received a scholarship to study at the Chengdu University of Chinese Medicine, China and work in their hospital.
She has particular interests in areas of:
- Mental health (such as stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia)
- Women's health support (fertility, pre-conception and pregnancy care, menstrual problems, menopause, endometriosis, PCOS and more)
- Musculoskeletal conditions (pain management, injury recovery and desk-worker upper body tightness)
- Cosmetic acupuncture (facial rejuvenation); facial cupping and gua sha.
TCM is an incredibly diverse medicine, and is thought to help a wide range of conditions. Feel free to ask questions and email if you’re wondering whether TCM will benefit you!
